AUDIOCODE MP-108 DIAL TONE MODE FXS INSTALLATION GUIDE  
 
  Dial Tone Mode: Your gateway, configured with pre-defined Calling Accounts, will produce a dial tone, enabling your users to pick up the phone and dial the destination number to make calls.

 
 
             
Step 1: Connect the AudioCodes to the internet

Step 1: Connect the AudioCodes to the internet
 
  1. Prior to configuration, make sure that you have a hub and a Static IP for the AudioCodes gateway.
2. Connect all of the appropriate cables - see table below.

    AC power cord      
Connect your power supply to the 100-250V~ 50-60 Hz power socket on the rear panel of the gateways.

   
 
    10/100 Base-T Ethernet Cable      
Plug in the cable to the 10/100 Base-T RJ-45 port on the rear panel of the gateway and to your hub connected to your network. (MP-108, MP-108 have one 10/100 Base-T RJ-45 port, and MP-124 has two 10/100 Base-T RJ-45 ports.)

   
 
    RJ-11 Telephone cords      
Connect your regular analog telephones to the RJ-11 ports on the rear panel of gateways.

   
 
 
  3. The “LAN” and “Ready” lights on the front of the AudioCodes will be green, indicating that the gateway is connected to the internet and a power supply.

Step 2: Set Up all Relevant Configuration Files
 
  1. Download and install the BootP configuration program.

Copy the BootP Files located here
http://download.deltathree.com/download/AudioCodes/boot/bootp.zip to your local drive.

Install the BootP software on the computer that is located on the same LAN of the AudioCodes and that both are connected to the same hub.

2. Create a directory that will contain AudioCodes configuration files found here:
http://download.deltathree.com/download/AudioCodes/8portFXS-DialTone.zip

Copy the following 4 files to your directory on your computer:
  • MP1xx10_1_fxs.dat
  • usa_tones.dat
  • MP108_SIP_4_20_354_571.cmp
  • fxs_108_DialTone.ini

Step 3: Configure the AudioCodes
 
  1. Open the BootP program.
Click on “Edit” and then “Preferences.” The BootP program will access the files that appear in the “Directory” field. Set the directory location as the AudioCodes configuration directory that you created on your local hard drive.

2. On the BootP main screen, make sure that the top left “pause” button is not pressed down.

3. Click on the second button from the left called “Edit Clients.”
A new window called “Client Configuration” will open. Click on the first button from the left called “Add New Client.”

Complete the form with the following information:
  • MAC Address - find the MAC Address on a sticker located at the bottom of the AudioCodes
  • Client Name - pick any name you want
  • Template - none
  • IP - Static IP of your gateway
  • Subnet - Subnet Mask
  • Gateway - Default Gateway
  • TFTP Server IP - your computer's IP address (this will be a different IP from your gateway's IP address)
  • Boot File - should be MP108_SIP_4_20_354_571.cmp
    • i. Click on the Boot File field, go to the end of the line, and add a space and “-fb”. The file name should appear like this: ‘MP108_SIP_4_20_354_571.cmp -fb’
  • INI file - use the scroll down button to select your .INI file (this should be the .INI file that appears in your AudioCodes configuration directory)
  • Call Agent - your computer's IP address
4. Click on “Apply & Reset” and then OK. Keep the BootP main window open.

You should see on the BootP main screen a list showing the progress of the 4 files that are being uploaded to the AudioCodes. If you don't see anything on the BootP screen after 1 minute unplug the power cord from the AudioCodes and plug it back in.

5. Dial-Tone Configuration

a. Make sure to have up to 8 deltathree Calling Accounts ready to use (each Calling Account is a 12 digit User ID and Password).

b. Open your internet browser and go to http://your AudioCodes' IP address (http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx)

c. Click on the “Protocol Management” link

d. Click on “Authentication”

e. Enter in your User IDs and Passwords in the “User Name” and “Password” fields - each UserID will be configured with a specific port.

f. Click on “Submit” and then click on “Save Configuration”

Step 4: Start using your AudioCodes
 
  After all the files are uploaded to the AudioCodes and the “LAN” and “Ready” lights are green, you are ready to make calls.
